Some incredible work by our Spring 2019 Senior Jewelry students! Featured here are a brass and a sterling version of the Russian Wedding Band (three interlocking rings), and a copper/silver sweat-soldered ring made by L.M. in Grade 11. Excellent work, everyone!
Laminated Projects
A selection of beautiful cutting boards/serving platters made by Woodworking students this year – J.M. did our first-ever diagonal design! Students select their wood species, learn how to calculate board feet to price out a project, and design their dimensions. Great work, everyone!
Trades Picnic Tables
Our first adult-sized picnic table (donated to a local Early Child Education centre here in the Comox Valley), as well as our Spring 2019 tables donated to various daycares in our community. Excellent work, everyone!
Creative Projects
An assortment of creative projects designed and created by our Spring 2019 Senior Jewelry students. V.P. in Grade 11 wanted to try something a bit different, and riveted, shaped, and tempered the multi-layer flower pictured here. Also included are sweat-soldered projects, and a bestie puzzle pendant (one piece for each of six pals). Amazing work, everyone!
Wood 8 projects
Wow! Check out these great projects by some of our Spring 2019 Wood 8 students! For many of these students, it is their first time using tools and machines. In our short time together, students create a whistle and a gumball machine, as well as an intarsia project if they have time.
Phone stands
A quick intro project in our Woodworking course – students design dimensions and wood species, and try some precision cutting on the bandsaw with an angled table. Excellent work!

One of our intro projects in Senior Jewelry – bonus points if students can cut the whole shape out in one go! E.C. in Grade 11 used his to style up his lighter, and this other little fella looks pretty stealthy…
Community Project – Daycare Picnic Tables!
Our Fall 2018 Trades 9/10 students created these amazing kids’ picnic tables. All of them were donated to local daycares as a Community-Building project here in the Comox Valley. It’s so rewarding for our students to see their work being used by others in our community, especially when we have the wee ones come by our shops to pick them up! Great work, everyone.
Cross-curricular coffee table
Grade 12 student C.B. designed this amazing table – he welded the base in our Jewelry/Metalwork class, and C.F. and W.G. in Senior Woodwork helped him out with the gorgeous cherry tabletop. Excellent work!
