2021-22: Grade 8 keychains!
Y’all! It has been a LONG couple of years! Things are shifting into highlight reels for these past two school years, please enjoy. And of course, kudos to all of these amazing students for showing tenacity and creativity throughout what has been a challenging time.
First up: some examples of our first project in Grade 8, a copper keychain/pendant! Students learn the basics of filing, sanding, drilling, annealing, stamping, texturing, tempering, as well as adding a patina and buffing. Awesome work, everyone!
2020-21 Custom lost wax castings
Excellent work by L.J. and K.C. on the wand and snake rings! We also had students experiment with organic materials, which included these sterling silver cone and cedar branch pieces.

2020-21 Creative Rings!
An awesome mix of twisted rings (including one with sterling wire), an interlocking sterling silver ring (first pic), and stamped and offset-soldered rings.
2020-21 Pewter Castings!
Some students went extra creative and used epoxy resin (we use EcoPoxy with added pigmentation and sometimes GLITTER). Nice work, y’all!

A selection of unique and challenging Creative Projects (minimum 2 types of metal sweat-soldered together) made by senior students. That wolf/deer coin was especially tricky – way to go, everyone!
EPIC dining table top!
THIS PROJECT. This is a one-off due to many factors – most especially J.M.’s drive, adamant proposal and research, and the fact that in 2020-21, we had a lot more flexibility due to double blocks. And WOW. Here are a few captures of this live-edge, clear epoxy resin dining room table top (a.k.a. “river table”). Excellent work, J.M.!!!!
